Electronics and electrical sector exhibition in Germany: Four local companies showcase products

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) organised a Sri Lanka pavilion at ‘Productronica 2019’ in Messe Munchen, Germany recently, with the assistance of Embassy of Sri Lanka in Germany and Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt.

Productronica 2019 Messe München is a biannual trade fair with innovative solutions and products for the entire value chain in electronics and electrical manufacturing. In 2017, 1,200 exhibitors participated from all over the world with some 44,000 trade visitors from 85 countries.

The products and services included semiconductors, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Surface Mount Technology (SMT), cables, coils and hybrids, Future Markets and Overall Production Support.

Four Sri Lankan medium to large scale electronics and electrical sector companies Cables Solutions, Entgra, Kelani Cables and Vario Systems showcased their products at the exhibition.

Sri Lanka’s top exporting destinations of electronics and electrical products are to EU countries, such as Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Belgium. In 2018, total electronics and electrical goods exports from Sri Lanka to the EU region was at US$ 112 mn.

The Sri Lankan exhibitors at Productronica 2019 also showcased their products and services at Semicon Europa, a European electronics platform connecting industry leaders across the entire manufacturing supply chain from every segment and sector of the European microelectronics industries.
