The Sri Lankan surfing team left for China to take part at the 2019 Asian Surfing Championships which will be held from November 17 to 24.

In the recently held Surfing International which was held at Arugam Bay two of the Sri Lankan surfers did extremely well while competing in the Top Professional segment while the others came up with marked improvements. They have now set their sights on securing a berth at the 2022 Asian Games which will also be held in China.

Only Yashika Shehan is on his maiden tour while all others are well experienced in competing at major surfing events in India, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Lakshitha, Praneeth and Nadeen are favourites to secure a medal for the country.
