Sri Lanka to break Rawalpindi drought in Pakistan

Sri Lanka Cricket named a 16-member squad to tour Pakistan for the two-Test series this month with the first Test to be played in Rawalpindi from December 11 to 15 followed by the second and final Test in Karachi from December 19 to the 23.

No international Tests have been played in Rawalpindi for 15years and Sri Lanka has played only one Test at the venue in 2000 and won the match by two wickets.

No international Tests have been played in Rawalpindi since 2004.

But the venue of the second Test in Karachi has never been favourable to Sri Lanka who have lost four of the five Tests played at the ground with the other drawn.

Accept for fast bowler Suranga Lakmal the rest of the members in the tour party will be playing Test cricket in Pakistan for the first time.
