The Scarecrow

5 January, 2020

Clad in

worn-out

Shabby coat

Crowned the head

With an old broken pot

With a funny look

On the face

makes passers-by laugh

frightens the wild-birds in the yard

Chasing them away to the wild.

Stood in the field

all alone for long

With no shelter to shield

from rain and sun

no need to feed

only to serve the need.

How its name is originated

One would tend to say

from hearsay

it scares the crow

thus it becomes the Scarecrow.
