The Sri Lanka Indoor Cricket team will leave on January 6 on the second leg of a home-and-way Test series against England with their new title sponsor Cashwagon.

The World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF) sanctioned series will be held in Birmingham, England from January 8 to the 17.

The first leg of the series, held in Sri Lanka in April 2018, was won 6-0 by the host country. England now require a series win at home to level the series.

Cashwagon has a developing history with indoor cricket in Sri Lanka, including one of the company’s employees, Malshan Rodrigo, a young, dynamic and energetic member of the national side. The sponsorship is seen as a natural extension of the growing relationship.

“They are excited by new partnership with Cashwagon,” said Hiran de Mel, head of Technical and Operations for Ceylon Indoor Cricket Association. “Cashwagon is a huge supporter of indoor cricket in Sri Lanka.”

Samila Fernando, CEO of Lendtech Lanka, the company which operates the Cashwagon platform under “Cashwagon” brand, had similar encouraging remarks.

“They have been following Indoor Cricket in Sri Lanka as fans for many years with pride at being able to play a small role in helping our talented team to complete a successful series against England,” he said.
