Police Sports Club’s three quarters turned in a dazzling display of open rugby to score a convincing 36 points (Four Goals, One try, one penalty to 15) (three tries) victory over Sri Lanka Air Force in their Dialog ‘A’ Division League Rugby match played at Ratmalana on Friday after leading 12-5 at the breather.

After being contained in the first half the policemen went on the rampage in the second half to add 24 more points to which the Airmen could reply with only 10 more points.

Fijian Centre Emoci Vunivosa (two) winger Sachith Silva) (One), flanker Udara Sooriyapperuma (one) and substitute fly half Vihanga Pivithuru (one) scored the tries for the policemen with fly half Nalin Kumara adding the extra points to four tries and fired across a penalty.

For the Air Force, Sashika Ashen (two tries) and Faris Ali (one) scored the tries. This was police’s fourth victory for the season having earlier beaten Navy, Havelocks and CH &FC.

Navy stun Army

Navy Sports Club pulled off a shock win over Army SC and secured their first victory in the season of Dialog rugby league played at Welisara yesterday. Two back to back tries in the latter stage of the second half of the game saw Navy SC pull off this victory.

The scores read 7 points to 19 in favour of Army at lemons but Navy fought back in the second half as they shocked everyone in some last-minute heroics, winning the game 35 points to 34
