Measures are under way to sell products of self-employed Samurdhi recipients online, Women and Child Affairs, Social Security, Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said. According to the Minister, arrangements will be made soon to export the products of self-employed Samudhi recipients.
She made these views after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daraz.lk at Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla recently.
Minister Wanniarachchi said that the Samurdhi Program has a network of 1,073 Samurdhi Banks with Rs. 122 billion.
There is a large work force attached to the program, she said. Minister Wanniarachchi stressed the importance of buying high quality products online from the producer without paying money for a broker or mediator.
