Buddha statue returned

19 January, 2020

A Buddha statue that has been passed down for generations of British Archaeologist and explorer H.C.P. Bell’s family since he was given the precious piece of archaeology in 1919 during the time he worked in Sri Lanka, was returned home recently by his grandson Rev. Kenneth Bell and his daughter Fiona. They travelled from their homes in Overton, Hampshire to return the statue treasured by the family for 100 years, to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.
