Over Rs. 700 million to be spent on Ratnapura Teaching Hospital

A professorial ward will be given to Ratnapura District Hospital in order to educate medical students come from Sabaragamuwa Medical faculty. Rs. 700 million will be spent on providing physical resources including building complexes to the hospital, Health Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi had said that Ratnapura District Hospital will be turned into a Teaching Hospital in order to provide medical education for the medical students of Sabaragamuwa Medical faculty.
    
Minister Wanniarachchi handed over medical equipment worth Rs. 300 million to Ratnapura District Hospital during a recent inspection tour.

 Three ultra sound scanners, one portable ultra sound scanners,  two Anesthetic Work Stations,  four Multi Parameter Monitors,  17 Syringe Pumps, seven Infusion Pumps, two defibrillators, three Pulse Oxymeters, one Phototherapy Unit, two CTG Machines, three FCG Recorders and many other modern medical equipment were among them.
