Workshop for SME entrepreneurs by the People’s Bank at Tangalle

The Hambantota district branch of the People’s Bank held a workshop at the Golden Pearl Hotel in Tangalle to educate the small and medium entrepreneurs on the loan schemes meant to give a boost to their businesses and industries under the concept of the present regime’s Rajaye Saubagyaye Dekma.

The small and medium entrepreneurs were educated on various loan schemes beneficial to them. The People’s Bank has been digitalised in various spheres for the convenience of customers and the motive behind the workshop was to enhance the ongoing businesses and industries as well as to give a new lease of life to business establishments and businesses which are on the verge of closure. Assisting those who wish to start new businesses and industries was another aim of this workshop.

People’s Bank sources said that this program was implemented in 2012 and that a large number of SME entrepreneurs had reaped full benefits from it and become successful businessmen and industrialists while repaying their loans to the utmost satisfaction of the bank. The SME entrepreneurs who participated at the workshop were also instructed on maintaining accounts and paying income tax.

The DGM Enterprise Banking Krishan Narangoda, AGM Enterprise Banking ,Wicrama Narayana, Human Skills Development Trainer, Bandula Haputhanthrige, Regional Manager, People’s Bank L.U.L.Alwis, Assistant Regional Manager S.Subaz, Unit Manager, Dilip Sinhapura and Trainer Sanath Gamage were present at the workshop.
