Ratwatte, Cooray chief guests at Bradby

The 1983 rugby captains of Trinity College and Royal College Ashan Ratwatte and Sriyan Cooray, both were scrum halves, will be the chief guests for the Bradby games.

In the first leg in Colombo on May 30 it will be Cooray as chief guest and the Kandy leg on June 13 will have Ratwatte as chief guest.

In the year 1983 the first leg was in Kandy, which was a good hard fought match where Trinity won 14-6.

Royal won the second leg in Colombo 10-6, but Trinity retained the Bradby because of the highest aggregate.

Ratwatte captained Trinity in 1983 and played for Kandy Sports Club and at that time he was the number one scrum half in the country, an automatic choice to the national team.

He ended his career playing for CR and FC after leading the Kandy SC side in 1986 and 1987.

Cooray too was a top class scrum half and played for CR and FC and the Sri Lanka Sevens team. He scored the match-winning try when CR won the inaugural Premadasa Trophy tournament in 1984.
