Several spells of showers may occur in the Uva, Southern and Central provinces and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts, said the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces after 2.00 pm.
Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
