Air Force Hands over newly constructed isolation unit

Sri Lanka Air Force handed over a 16-room isolation unit to the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe on Saturday (28).

Construction work of the new unit commenced on March 18 under the direct supervision of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, a team of 9 Civil Engineering Officers and 250 Airmen led by Senior Staff Officer Civil Engineering, Air Commodore Udula Wijesinghe.

This facility is expected to fulfill an urgent requirement of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases better known as IDH and enhance their capability to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our motherland.
