Inter club rugby season ends

5 April, 2020

The Clifford Cup knock-out rugby tournament has been called off going by the disruption of sport in the country due to the coronavirus.

The tournament usually follows the conclusion of the League which ended its second round last month with Kandy SC the undisputed winner. Kandy's massive lead in the points table only made the Super Round, which was to start after the completion of the second round, highly absurd and even questionable.

The only form of competitive rugby likely to be played will be the continuation of the schools league which was halted after just two weeks due to the coronavirus.

While Kandy SC finished first, Police SC ended runners-up with Havelocks taking the third slot.
