Hindu religious ceremony to bless President and Covid-19 survivors

The Ampara District National Youth Services Council (NYSC) organised a Hindu religious ceremony Amaavaasayil Oli Malai, the holding of lamps to bless Covid-19 survivors, the youth and the country at the Anpuveli Sri Sithy Vinayagar Temple in the Navithanveli DS division in the Ampara district recently.

It was held under the patronage of Navithanveli Youth Services Officer N. Jeyaraj. The Chief Priest, Shiva Shri T. Thevakumar Kurukkal conducted the poojas.

At the ceremony a pooja was held to bless President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on his 71st birthday.

This was the main Hindu religious ceremony organised by the National Youth Services Council (NYSC).

National Youth Services Council Eastern Province Director, M. Sisirakumara, Ampara District Assistant Director W.A.G.S. Dhamayanthi, Ampara District Youth Services Officer, A. Mubarak Ali, Navithanveli Youth Parliamentarian, S. Rukutharan, Navithanveli Valampuri Youth Club President, Shiva Shri Shubasahar Sharma Kurukkal and other youth were in attendance.
