Transport Services Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the National Transport Commission (NTC) and the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) to halt the sale of various commodities on all private and CTB buses in light of the situation in the country over COVID-19. The ministry said that it had received complaints from commuters that vendors were not adhering to health guidelines while onboard buses.
The Ceylon Railways Department has also taken measures to prevent the entry of vendors to trains.
