Itukama Fund records Rs. 1,511 million

The balance in the Itukama COVID-19 Social Security Fund has topped Rs. 1,511 million, according to the President’s Media Division.

Donations have been provided from private donors and institutions. The Sabaragamuwa Province state sector employees had donated Rs. 17,504,709.35, which was handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by Sabaragamuwa Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa.

W.A. Upali Prematillake had donated Rs. 100,000, J. Lalitha Robinson had donated Rs. 10,000, Honas Brothers and Lalanda had donated Rs. 5,000, Kanate Gedara Elisa had donated Rs. 10,000, B.M. Ratnayake Rs. 10,000, T.L. Premaratne Rs. 5,000, K.C.S.K. Premalal Rs. 500, K.R. Danuja Theekshana Rs. 1,500, Kegalle District Shasanarakshana Mandalaya Rs. 687,500, Mawanella Bikshu Bala Mandalaya and the Mawanella Shasanarakshana Bala Mandalaya donated Rs. 250,000 were handed over to the President.

The parents of Medical students of the Kurusk Medical University in Russia had donated Rs. 115,000, the Central Provincial Council Secretary and staff donated Rs. 44,500, the Sri Lanka Development Administration Institute Rs. 111,899.82, Engineer L.W.D. Danansooriya Rs. 100,000 and the Rubber Development Department donated Rs. 96,696.04.

The balance in the COVID-19 social security fund now stands at Rs. 1,511,158,364.14.

 

The donations will be credited to the special account opened under the number 85737373 at the Corporate Branch of the Bank of Ceylon. Local and foreign donors could make their contributions to the Fund. Donations to COVID – 19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund have been exempted from taxes and foreign exchange regulations. Deposits can be made through cheques or telegraphic transfers over www.itukama.lk or by dialing #207#.
