Muslims in the Ampara district celebrated Eidul Adha (Hadj Festival) yesterday, August 1, following the health regulations issued by the Department of Health and Security personnel in the predominantly Muslim area.

Muslims who could not celebrate Ramadhan Festival due to Covid-19 and Hadj Festival last year due to the Easter Sunday attacks, were able to celebrate Hadj festival in a grand manner as it fell just after the Yala paddy harvest which gave them the necessary financial backing.

The Muslims in the area were also able conduct Festival prayers abiding by the rules and regulation of the Health authorities and the Security personnel.
