The former Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi who secured the highest number of preferential votes at the General Election said that it was the far- sighted and accurate vision of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that made it possible to hold a safe and smooth election after fully controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The former minister secured 200,977 preferential votes.
“I thank the people of the Ratnapura district for the landslide victory they gave the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and me with over 200,000 preferential votes which made it a historic victory, she said.
According to the former Minister, the SLPP secured a majority of over 290,000 votes in the Ratnapura district which a major victory of the party. “Unprecedented development will take place in the district under the SLPP Government,” she said assuring her fullest contribution towards making President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s policy, ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’ a reality and ensuring prosperity for the people.
