Life Saving Association reschedule all events for this year

16 August, 2020

The Life Saving Association will hold an emergency meeting of the executive members today to discuss the future of the sport.

President of the Association, Asanka Nanayakkara, told the Sunday Observer that they will centre their discussions on the postponement and abandoned tournaments that were scheduled to be held early this year.

Covid-19 forced the events to be abandoned but the the Association is determined to conduct these events later this year.

“The situation has come back to normal in the country and we hope to continue with our activities. We are trying to complete the events for this calendar year by rescheduling our itinerary,” said Nanayakkara.

They intend to conduct the inter-club and Intermediate lifesaving championships in September and the national life saving championship in December.

The national life saving championship will be held at Mount Lavinia.
