The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 said that two new COVID-19 patients were found as at today morning. One returnees from UAE who had been undergoing quarantine at Pampemaduwa Quarantine Centre and the other patient was a returnee from Kuwait who had been undergoing quarantine at Pelwehera Quarantine Centre.
The Centre said that 7,122 persons were undergoing quarantine at 69 centres belonging to the tri-forces as at this morning. The number of PCR tests carried out on Thursday stood at 2,110.
A total of 33,695 had returned home after completing the quarantine process. Eleven more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals yesterday following full recovery.
While 604 persons infected with COVID-19 at Kandakadu rehabilitation centre had been discharged from hospitals, another 35 were still undergoing treatments.
