Art competition during Covid-19 pandemic

An Art competition which was held among the students who stayed at home during the lockdown of Covid-19 Pandemic at the Puttalam District Secretariat, auditorium recently. The art competition was conducted by District Secretariat and ‘FRIENDS’, a Non Governmental Organisation in Puttalam.

Children from 10 Grama Sevaka divisions of Vanathavillu DS division, 10 Grama Sevaka divisions in the Puttalam DS division and children from 25 villages participated in the competition held under the theme ‘Participation to save the children and development'. Drawings were collected on ’A Family free from substances’ and ‘Save the environment’ topics.

The best drawings were selected from 370 drawings receieved by the Organising Committee. The teacher Instructor of Art in the Zonal Education Office, Puttalam M.M. Muhammedh chaired the selection committee. Child Rights Officer, Puttalam H.M.P. Shriyani, teacher Instructor A.N.M.M. Inzaf , District Development Officer, A.R. Raisha and the Project Officer of FRIENDS Organisation M.F.Sufiyani selected the drawings.
