More than 38,000 released from Quarantine centres

38,863 individuals have been released from quarantine centres so far while 6,176 are still under quarantine at 57 centres belonging to the tri-forces as at this morning, the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said.

According to the NOCPCO sources, 1560 PCR tests have been conducted in Sri Lanka yesterday as the total number of PCR tests carried out so far stands at 242,984.

Nine more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals yesterday following full recovery.

While 634 persons infected with COVID-19 at Kandakadu rehabilitation centre had been discharged from hospitals, another 15 were still undergoing treatments.

According to the epidemiology unit there are only 193 active cases being treated in various hospitals across the country. The total count of positive coronavirus cases found in Sri Lanka currently sits at 3140 while the recovered cases climbed to 2,935.
