Dipped Products PLC (DPL) donated gloves for the national beach cleaning program conducted by the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), in partnership with the Lions Club of Sri Lanka.

This contribution was in aid of the ‘National Marine Resources Conservation Week 2020’ declared by the Government with a focus on conserving the national marine resources all around the island.

The event was held at the Central Environmental Authority recently with Minister of Environment, Mahinda Amaraweera as the chief guest. It was coordinated and facilitated by the Lions Multiple District 306 Sri Lanka as part of their ‘Go Green with Lions’ initiative. The program will raise awareness on marine pollution and the conservation of marine resources in the country.

“The majority of marine pollution originates from waste which is discharged irresponsibly into waterways or coasts,” DPL Deputy Managing Director, Pushpika Janadheera said.
