Khairiya Girls’ College gets a new building

The new two-storied building at Khairiya Girls’ College, Colombo was opened under the patronage of Principal Nazeera Hassanar recently. The building was donated by the late Thaiba Abdul Muhsin Al Mashary of Kuwait.

The Chief Guest, Western Province Education Director Srilal Nonis and the Guest of Honour, Zonal Director of Education, Colombo G.N. Silva were present.

Principal Nazeera Hassanar thanked the donor and requested to donate one more building for the primary section. She also thanked the Zonal Director of Education, teachers, parents and members of the School Development Committee for their help in organising the event and presented mementos to the Zonal Director of Education G.N. Silva and other guests.

Representatives from the Embassy of Kuwait Ash Sheik Firdhouse (Naleemi), Secretary, Al Hima Islamic Services Sri Lanka, Ash Sheik M.M.A. Noorullah (Naleemi), Ex-Western Provincial Councillors A.J.M. Faiz, Arshad Nizamdeen, School Development Committee Secretary M.N.M. Shirazdeen, HS Foundation Secretary Dr. Irshad Jabir, Principals, members of the SDC and Past Pupils Association, teachers, students and parents were present.
