The Education Ministry today announced that all schools will be closed from tomorrow.
The second term holidays for all schools will begin from tomorrow. The decision was taken in the wake of renewed COVID-19 scare after a patient in Divulapitiya in Gampaha was tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ministry said the closure of schools was a precautionary measure also taking into account the police curfew and restrictions of movement in place in some areas.
Accordingly, the heads of all schools and regional education authorities have been asked to comply with the decision. All private schools, pirivena education institutions and tuition classes are also requested to oblige with the above decision and take necessary precautions.
