A B2B webinar between Sri Lankan and Omani boat building companies was held last week to promote collaboration between the boat building industries of the two countries.

The Sri Lanka Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman and the Export Development Board (EDB) of Sri Lanka organised the webinar.

The B2B meetings were held between executives of the Omani boat manufacturing company of the Al Fairuz Group and the representatives of Sri Lankan companies, Neil Fernando & Co., Danusha Group of Companies and Northwest Marine.

Opening the B2B meetings, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman, Ameer Ajwad said that as the two nations sharing the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka and Oman are well placed to collaborate each other in this sector. He pointed out that both countries have synergies in the areas such as fisheries and nautical tourism and that the boat building industry of both countries has a huge potential for collaboration.

The representatives of the boat building companies of both countries exchanged a range of ideas for cooperation.
