Udawalawa Police raided a house at Karametiaara where bogus driving licences were issued at exorbitant rates. The police said that they found two bogus rubber stamps bearing the name of the Ratnapura district commissioner of motor vehicles, a date stamp, two NICs, two bogus driving licences, 15 applications for driving licences and 78 miligrams of heroin at the house. The owner of the house, a bus conductor has been taken into custody.
The police said that he is a drug addict and running the bogus driving licence issuing cente to find money for drugs. Police are investigating.
