Lanka Hospitals completes 9,000 heart surgeries

Lanka Hospitals celebrated World Heart Day recently. The event also marked the successful completion of 9,000 heart surgeries at the hospital’s Heart Centre.

Lanka Hospitals’ Group Chief Executive Officer Deepthi Lokuarachchi, Lanka Hospitals’ Director Medical Services, Dr. Wimal Karandagoda, senior members of Lanka Hospitals’ management, heart specialists and staff of the hospital’s Heart Centre were also present.

The event also included an educational panel discussion by three senior resident cardiac specialists with regard to heart health and the importance of preventing heart disease. The members of the panel were Resident Consultant Cardiologist Dr. M. Mubarak, Chief Resident Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. G. Gandhiji and Resident Consultant Cardiac Anaesthesiologist Dr. P. Lushantha.
