Cardi B Releases her first shoe With Reebok

25 October, 2020

“I’m kicking off my birthday weekend by announcing I am officially dropping my first ever Reebok x Cardi Footwear Collection on 11/13!!” the Grammy Award - winning artist wrote. The announcement post features a photo from the campaign that shows Cardi rocking the shoes in what looks like a laundry room. (But, of course, both the laundry machines and the detergent bottles in the background are covered in white and blue rhinestones, matching Cardi’s own ‘fit.)

The Club C Cardi is a chunkier take on Reebok’s classic Club C silhouette with an elongated tongue. The sneakers’ color palette features chalk, gold matte, and black, with semi-translucent rubber midsole, and gold accents (including “Cardi B” written in gold on the inside of the shoe.)

“Inspired by a dystopian world, the new Club C Cardi sneaker was designed to be unapologetically in your face, whether you like it or not. Taking cues from her recent iconic fashion moments, Cardi was inspired by bold, transparent design, taking the simplicity of the infamous Club C silhouette to the next level,” the brand wrote in a press email. Cardi B has been a brand ambassador for Reebok since 2018 but the sneakers are her first footwear collaboration with the sportswear label.

Launching in both adult and toddler sizing, priced at $100 and $50 respectively, the members’ exclusive early release almost immediately sold out (in adult sizes only, toddler sizes are still available for now). However, a new general drop is likely to follow the limited release. All fans can sign up for updates on reebok.com and receive info on the official collection launch on November 13.

The “WAP” star is known for inspiring extravagant looks, mixing athleisure fashion with her love for luxurious touches. This release further cements the rapper as a style icon, with no doubt that the sneakers will be flying off the shelves as soon as they become available again.
