Pest control company, The Exterminators (Pvt) Ltd, has introduced its proprietary ‘Specialised Anti-Microbial Disinfection Service’ focused on countering the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesman for the the local pest management company said  that they were successful in obtaining the globally recognised Carbon Neutral certification for their dedicated service, demonstrating their continuous commitment towards the environment.

The audit to measure the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions associated with the delivery of this service in Sri Lanka was conducted by the Carbon Consulting Company (CCC).

The CarbonNeutral Certification for the specialised disinfection service of the Exterminators was awarded by the Sustainable Future Group (SFG), Sri Lanka’s only sustainability verification and certification body that is accredited to verify and validate Organisational and Project-level GHG emissions inventories under ISO 14064. Founder and Managing Director of Exterminators, Marlon Ferreira said, “Based on our internal research, we believe our anti-microbial disinfection service is most probably the world’s first such service to be certified as Carbon Neutral. We will continue to provide this service to our communities for as long as the threat of Covid-19 remains, and we look forward to taking on new challenges by providing game-changing anti-microbial disinfection and pest management solutions in the region by designing, developing and articulating environmentally sustainable and health and safety focused business practices.”
