Insee Cement inks agreement with SEC

Insee Cement Sri Lanka signed an agreement with the State Engineering Corporation (SEC) to purchase dolomite, which is used as raw material in the cement manufacturing process.

The agreement which was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Parliament premises, entails Insee Cement purchasing dolomite from a quarry owned and operated by the SEC in Matale.

Chairman, Insee Cement Nandana Ekanayake and Chairman, SEC, Ratnasiri Kalupahana signed and exchanged the agreement on behalf of the two organisations.

State Minister, Rural Housing and Construction and Building Material Industries Promotion,Indika Anuruddha Herath, officials from the Ministry, Deputy Chairman, SEC, Bhagya Jayatilake and Director, Procurement and Logistics, Thusith Gunawarnasuriya and Head of External Affairs and Channel Development, Chandana Nanayakkara were also present.Insee Cement Chairman Ekanayake said, “We are committed to building a resilient nation and this agreement is another example of our commitment to help the local industries and communities.”

The agreement is expected employment opportunities for communities in Matale.
