Nawinna Medicare Hospital sets up laparoscopy unit

Nawinna Medicare Hospital (Pvt) Ltd has teamed up with Mediquipment Ltd, to set up a laparoscopy unit at the hospital.

The unit which cost Rs. 20 million carries out minimally invasive procedures to ensure faster recovery to patients by reducing the post-operative hospital stay.

The hospital offers a wide range of laparoscopic services including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernias, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, myomectomy and diagnostic laparoscopy for gynaecology.

Other services include diagnostic and therapeutic cystoscopy, urological stent insertion and removals, and the removal of prostates.

Managing Director of Nawinna Medicare Hospital, Dr. Sarath Rathnayake said patients can obtain these services at a lower cost compared to other hospitals at this unit.

We also carry an extensive spare parts inventory for equipment supplied by us,” he said.
