Gymnastic coaches who are without any work due to the Covid-19 outbreak are to receive allowances from the Sri Lanka Gymnastic Association (SLGA).
The International Gymnastic Federation has donated Rs 2 million to the SLGA and from this amount half of it will be set aside to give the allowances to 50 coaches. These allowances will be made due to the request made by the president of SLGA Kokila Kaluarachchi and secretary Kapila Jeewantha.
The balance will be used for development purposes. Other items such as antiseptic materials and other equipment will be purchased.
The selection of coaches will be on the recommendations made by the district associations. However, these coaches must be involved in their coaching activities to entitle them for this allowance.(DR)
