Road development projects, two million saplings to be planted

One-hundred-and-sixty road development projects will be launched in one-hundred-and-sixty electorates and the program to plant two million saplings on both sides of the road will commence today (22) to mark the first anniversary of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Presidency under the patronage of State Minister of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure, Nimal Lansa. Steps have been taken to launch these road development projects in keeping with the national program to develop 100,000 kms under the President’s 'Vision of Prosperity and Splendour' program.

The inauguration ceremony will be held today at the Kapuduwa New Interchange on the Southern Expressway, under the patronage of Minister of Highways, Johnston Fernando.

Other road development projects and planting programs will be launched with the participation of Ministers, Members of Parliament and political leaders.
