There is a possibility to develop a low pressure area in the south-east of Bay of Bengal Sea area during next 24 hours, stated the Department of Meteorology.
It is likely to affect weather over the island during next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva, Central, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls about 50mm are likely at some places.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
