Oppo ends 2020 on positive note

Oppo ended 2020 on a positive note having delivered a host of new products and services to the world all of which were received brilliantly by their discerning clientele the world over. Last year marked its fifth anniversary in Sri Lanka and 16th globally. 

In retrospect, founder and CEO of Oppo in a message to the group’s staff exceeding 40,000 said, “We can be proud that in 2020, Oppo grew in a declining market. We remain the market leader in Southeast Asia. In India, we saw sales continue to rise with a 33% increase in brand preference. We tripled our shipments in Western Europe and Japan. By the end of 2020 we had almost 400M worldwide users of our ColorOS operating system.”

Oppo launched an assortment of new models in 2020: Oppo F15, F17 and F17 Pro and Reno 3. These devices have performed well in terms of sales along with Enco W51, Enco Free and other wireless headphones of the Enco range which is a breakthrough both in terms of style and functionality, also launched early this year.

In November, Oppo hosted Inno Day themed ‘Technology for Mankind – Kindness for the World’ as an online event. Inno Day an annual forum where industry experts, partners and key opinion leader elaborate on the future of technology. Inno Day this year saw the presentation of Oppo X, a rollable handset featuring flexible display and structural stacking. Also unveiled was a full-path Colour Management System which will be incorporated in all flagship smartphones from 2021.
