Showers are expected to enhance over the island to some extent, due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance to the south-east of Sri Lanka, during the next few days.
Evening thunder showers can be expected in Colombo till January 13. The weather will be partly cloudy throughout the week.
The sea areas around the island can be moderate.
The public should take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thunder showers.
