An AMBER weather advisory was issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Center to the Naval and fishing communities for strong winds and rough seas in north-east, north and north-west of the island.
Sea areas extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurei can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times.
