Puritas donates face masks to Army

Puritas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Haycarb PLC and a member of the Hayleys Group, donated 5,000 Oxypura Care masks to the Sri Lanka Army.

This is the fifth consignment of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) donated by Puritas to SL army, bringing the total number of masks provided by the company to 14,000 throughout the year 2020.

Oxypura Care masks which were donated by Puritas, contain four layers of protection including a particulate matter filter and activated carbon filters. The Sri Lankan made product has been tested by internationally recognised laboratories, Bureau Veritas in Hong Kong and Nelson Laboratories in the USA, and has been proven to have a bacteria filtration efficiency of more than 99%, a virus filtration efficiency of more than 98% and recommended use of 14 wash cycles.

The Hayleys team comprising Manura Wickramasinghe, Channa Wijethunga and Eashan Samarasinghe presented the masks to the Army Commander, Gen. Shavendra Silva at Army HQ recently.
