Some 213 institutions of 1,311 public and private institutions in the Western Province inspected on Friday to ascertain whether health guidelines are being followed, were found in violation of the health guidelines, the Police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that 1,098 of these institutions were adhering to health guidelines, while 213 institutions had violated health regulations.
He said that steps will be taken to initiate legal action against the administrations of the institutions which have violated the health guidelines. Meanwhile, 35 people have been arrested for not wearing face masks during Police operations conducted outside the Western Province.
