A seminar was conducted by HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) on the theme “Caring for elders and to create an environment for them to live with dignity” for executives of SLTMobitel recently, to create awareness on the importance of helping the elderly.
Over 50 executives attached to the HR, Finance, Legal and Information Technology divisions were present.
HelpAge, Youth Education Program, Director G.C. Mendis said that all of us should realise that one day we will become old and everybody likes to spend their twilight days within their family circle and not in `Elders Homes’.
He said that even world’s renowned personalities such as former American President Barack Obama, the late British Prime Minister Margarat Thatcher and the late Indian Prime Minister Sri Jawaharalal Neru looked after their parents and grandparents during their twilight days.
