The truth behind the rumours on Facia

Alaris Lanka Pvt Ltd conducted a press conference recently to explain to the media regarding the false rumours about their brand “Facia Premium”.

Mr. Tharanga Lanka Weerawardana, Chairman and the Managing Director of Alaris Group of Companies stated that a false letter baring the letterhead of the National Medicine Regulatory Authority and forged signature of Dr. Kamal Jayasinghe who is the CEO of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority stating that the product Facia Premium has been banned has been circulated in some print and social media.

The CEO of NMRA has denied the issuance of such letter and instructed the Director of the Fraud Investigation Bureau to conduct an investigation on priority basis.

He stated that this the two newspapers which published this news have immediately corrected the same after contacting the NMRA and Sri Lanka Customs. Further Face book has also taken action to mark these social media post as “False Information”.

“Although competitors have tried numerous times to tarnish the reputation of Alaris Lanka and Facia through the circulation of false and mis-leading facts such as this; Alaris Lanka as a responsible institution that has been in the industry for more than 10 years notifies customers and the public that they will continue to provide high quality and effective products while conducting their business in an ethical and professional manner,” he said.
