“A Plant for Love” on Valentine’s Day

The Environment Ministry has launched a tree planting program to mark Valentine's Day in a meaningful manner.

The program themed, “A Plant for Love” is being launched parallel to the Government’s Husma Dena Thuru tree-planting program.

Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera will inaugurate the program in where 5,000 Mee plants will be planted in the surroundings of the Weerawila Lake today. Couples will plant these Mee plants and the elderly farmers in this area will present the plants to the couples. In addition, the couples will be responsible to care for these plants.
