Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan recently welcomed her first child, a baby boy, and she just shared his adorable name with her fans — and it may have ties to the show itself.
Vanessa’s little one made his Instagram debut in a post shared by his proud mom on February 4. “The most challenging, beautiful experience of my life. On January 29, Michael and I welcomed our beautiful baby boy River into the world,” Vanessa wrote. “Words cannot describe this kind of love. We are enjoying this time home with him, being present, and giving him all the loving in the world. Becoming parents is the most rewarding gift in the entire world.” In the pic, we see River’s little hand resting on his mom’s chest; the pic was likely taken at the hospital, as Vanessa appears to be wearing a gown and the baby’s wearing an ID bracelet.
Whether or not the baby’s name is a nod to Riverdale and Vanessa Morgan’s role as Toni Topaz, we think his name is perfect, and his mother is clearly head over heels in love with her new addition. While she kept much of her pregnancy private, Vanessa shared small details about her journey with her followers and fans, initially announcing the big news in July. Later in 2020, Vanessa shared that her pregnancy was written into Riverdale and that her character Toni will also be pregnant on the show, though she didn’t provide more details about her storyline.
