North West may be just seven years old, but she’s already got a lengthy list of accomplishments, including performing at her dad Kanye’s fashion show, directing her own version of Old Town Road, starring in a YouTube video with Jojo Siwa, and being part of the first family of reality TV. She’s also apparently quite a good painter, leading fans to believe that she may be the new Bob Ross, the iconic TV painter of soothing landscapes.
Proud mama Kim Kardashian West showed off some of her daughter’s artwork on Instagram Stories, and the scenic mountain stream painted by her progeny quickly went viral on Twitter, with fans saying things like, “Not North having more talent than I ever will?????? @KimKardashian this is amazing!!” Comparisons to Ross, who painted happy trees and other natural wonders on PBS in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, were quick to surface.
“Why was Bob Ross’s spirit holding her hand?” wrote one Twitter user. “You’re telling me North West is out here drawing like she is Bob Ross.. and I’m over here still drawing stick figures at 25?!?” tweeted another. “North is seven ! Kanye’s kid doing Kanye things,” tweeted a Kanye podcast.
Some doubted that North had actually painted the piece in question, while others jumped to her defence. “Twitter wanting to bully North West for her painting, saying oh no, she didn’t make it, no seven y/o could do that!!— that’s literally a Bob Ross-style piece!! If you gave a kid the supplies and time with a Bob Ross marathon in the background, they could do this, EASILY,” they shared. Others even had ideas for a new show. “It’s not even hate coz if she can really paint like that then that’d be mad entertaining and we know that the Kardashians always find a way to profit off their children.
