Manjula Weeraratne was elected as the president of the Old Trinitians Sports Club at their Annual General Meeting held yesterday at the club house.
Weeraratne said his main aim with the rest of the Committee members is to promote indoor and outdoor sports. The AGM was held with the Trinity College principal Rev Fr. Araliya Jayasundara at the head table.
The OTSC was formally inaugurated with AGG Perera elected as the first president and Leonard de Alwis as the first secretary on July 19, 1980 with 53 members elected as founder members

Manjula Weeraratne (President), Dr. Asitha Bandaranayake and Primal Wijesinghe (Vice Presidents), Dr. Indika Rathnathilake (Secretary), Milinda Jayawardena (Treasurer), Asanka Ranawana (Social Secretary), Thusitha de Silva (Sports Secretary), RC Gamage (Bar Secretary), Lakmal Tennakoon, P. Kapilnath, R. Divagaran and Asitha Wegodapola (Committee Members)
Lakmal Tennakoon, the immediate past president was nominated as the Chairman, Development Projects apart from being a committee member.
