President Emmanuel Macron has promised more hospital beds for Covid patients and a curfew will be imposed from 07.00 p.m. to 06.00 a.m. Saturday onwards.

The country is currently struggling with an EU-wide delay in the vaccine rollout and several new strains of the virus.
