Seventeen year-old Savidu Perera of Maris Stella College, Negombo has shown promise as an upcoming all-round while playing in the Under 17 Division III tournament when he amassed over 480 runs to end up with a high a classy average of 54.25.
He also had a fine bowling record during the tournament capturing 28 wickets.
In the semi final after scoring a brisk 40 he also had a fine bowling performance capturing a five wicket haul that included a hat-trick.
Playing in the Under 19 tournament in the 2019-2020 season Savidu did well with the bat scoring 1025 runs four centuries and missed his fifth ton by four runs. He also captured 58 wickets. He represented Negombo CC in the U-23 tournament last year and played one game against Ragama CC scoring 35.
