Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje, Yugoslavia. Her real name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. After becoming a run of the Roman Catholic Church, her name was changed to Mother Teresa. In 1921, a group of Christian missionaries from Yugoslavia went to India for humanitarian services.

She was moved at the sight of the crippled and helpless people on the pavements. She made up her mind to stay India to serve the destitute. Since then she devoted herself completely them.Calcutta was the centre of her humanitarian services. After a prolonged illness she died on September 5, 1997 in Calcutta. Millions of people around the world mourned her death. Through her selfless service for the poor and the sick she has hearted of the people. Her memory will live with us forever.
